Thought you bought a dishwasher and you can immediately use it? But what about the installation and connection of equipment? Many people think about calling a wizard to carry out work. Do not rush to spend money - we will tell you how to properly connect the dishwasher to the water supply.
Features of installation and connection
Want a dishwasher to last at least 10 years? Then start by choosing a location to install. This is important because the complexity of the water connection will depend on the washing range.
Here are the basic requirements:
- If you have not provided a place for equipment in advance, try to place it next to the sink. Sewerage should not be further than 1.5 m. Hoses can be lengthened, but the pump will work in heavy duty to pump water at such a distance. In addition, excess connections increase the likelihood of leakage.
- Moisture resistant socket. It should be located at a distance of 45 cm from the floor, since the power cord of the dishwasher is quite short. If you do not have a separate outlet, then you need to hold it. For safety reasons, do not connect the machine through a tee or carry.
First of all, electrical wiring is organized, a socket is output. Then you need to connect the drain and organize a drain to the sewer. Now you can start plumbing.
Which water is better to connect the dishwasher
Does the equipment work without hot water? To find out exactly if hot water is needed when connecting, look in the instructions for how much water the dishwasher washes. Most models provide connection to a cold gutter. Why:
- Low quality hot water in the water supply. Too many calcareous impurities, rust, which settle on filters and parts of equipment.
- Periodic shutdown for prevention.
- For normal operation of the dishwasher, the water temperature should not exceed 60-65 degrees. Nobody regulates the temperature in the water supply system, and often it exceeds the norm. As a result, the system either mixes cold and hot flow on its own, or the water flows in its pure form, which affects the operation of the machine.
- The high flow temperature renders the ion exchanger unusable for softening water.
The connection method is specified in the operating instructions. In the case of hot water, special hoses with enhanced protection are included.
How to connect do-it-yourself PMM
Think about what tools and parts you might need. Prepare everything, and then get to work.
Accessories:
- Ник inch thread tee. It is better to choose a brass or bronze tee with a stopcock. These materials are more durable and reliable than plastic and brass.
- Flow filter. It will stop large particles of debris at the inlet, protect the inlet hose and filter screen from clogging.
- The squeezing coupling for insert in the pipeline.
- Fum tape.
- Additional hose adapter.
Instruments:
- Flat and Phillips screwdriver.
- Pliers.
- Wrench.
If the usual hose that came with the machine is not suitable for you, you can buy another one with Aquastop protection. It looks like this:
Inside the plastic case is an absorbent sponge. After leakage, the sponge absorbs moisture and swells, blocking the flow of water into the system. What is the protection of "Aquastop", read in our article.
If you have a built-in dishwasher, you can first put it in place and then arrange for the water supply. There are two connection options:
- Through the mixer.
- The method of insertion into the pipe.
One end of the hose fits onto the outlet of the dishwasher, and the nut is tightened. The other end joins the water outlet under the sink. Consider both options.
Through the mixer:
- Close the inlet valve.
- Unscrew the mixer hose from the pipe.
- In its place, install a tee with a tap.
- Connect a mixer hose to one outlet, and a flow filter and a PMM hose to the other.
- Rewind threaded connections with fum tape. Seal on the thread 10-15 times.
Wiring diagram:
If the pipe passes near the equipment, it makes no sense to extend the hose to the sink. You can cut it into the pipe yourself.
- Close the inlet hose.
- With a grinder, cut a part of the pipe and install the squeeze clutch.
- Screw the ball valve onto the coupling.
- At the tap outlet, wind the end of the dishwasher hose. For additional devices it is better to install a tee.
Judging by user reviews, an easier way is to connect through a mixer.
As you can see, you can perform the installation yourself if you wish. Pre-read the instructions for your PMM, and also watch a video on the topic:
