Preparing to repair a Bosch machine
Before disassembling the Bosch washing machine (Bosch), you need to properly prepare for this. You must present the CM diagram and the elements that will have to be removed.
The disassembly scheme is identical for different machine models: Bosch Max 4 (Bosch Maxx 4), Bosch Max 5 (Bosch Maxx 5), Bosch Max 6 (Bosch Maxx 6).
What stages of disassembly you have to go through:
- Remove the covers: top, back and front.
- Pull out the detergent drawer.
- Remove control panel.
- Remove the motor, intake valve, pressure sensor.
- Disconnect connectors and wiring.
- Disconnect pipes and hoses.
- Unscrew the weights and supports.
- To remove a collar of a cuff, to get UBL.
- Take out and disassemble the tank.
What tools do you need:
- Screwdrivers: slotted, Phillips, hex.
- Hammer, chisel.
- Torx keys.
- Nippers.
- Pliers.
Enough space is needed to disassemble the Bosch washing machine.
Disconnect the washer from the mains, shut off the water supply. Then prepare the container, unscrew the inlet hose from the SMA housing and drain the remaining water into it. Go around the car, open the hatch on the front panel from the bottom. Unscrew the filter and drain the water out of it.
The preparatory phase is over, it remains only to move the washing machine so that it is convenient to move around.
DIY repair
So, you have prepared everything you need, get to work.
Remove the top cover of the Bosch washing machine
Take a Phillips or hex screwdriver, unscrew the two screws on the back of the machine. Now slide the cover forward and lift it up. Be careful, the edges of the panel may be sharp. Set her aside.
Disconnect the control panel
Moving to the front, pull out the powder dispenser tray. Pressing the latch in the center, pull it towards you and pull it out of the case.
Next, unscrew the bolts located behind the tray, as well as the bolts on the other side of the panel. Carefully unclip the plastic latches (you can pry off with a flat screwdriver), disconnect the panel. To completely remove it, you will need to disconnect the wire connectors - it is better to photograph them in advance. But it’s easier to hang the panel on the side, on the service hook.
Remove the bottom cover. It is located at the bottom of the front panel. To do this, just release the latches. Set it aside.
Remove the front panel of the Bosch
First open the hatch door. Before disassembling the door of the Bosch washing machine, remove it from the hinges by unscrewing the screws. This must be done so as not to damage the glass of the hatch.
Bend the cuff of the hatch and, prying the clamp with a screwdriver, pull it out of place. Seal rubber into the drum.
Remove the bolts securing the door lock. Put your hand over the case and get the UBL. Disconnect all wires from it and set aside the lock.
Having unscrewed the screws along the perimeter of the front panel, carefully remove it and put it to the side.
Disconnect the rear panel and do counterweights
Unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the cover with a screwdriver, remove it. Behind the panel, you will immediately see the internal components of the Bosch washing machine.
Unscrew the screws of the upper bar, which connects the two parts of the body. Having taken the key 14 mm, unscrew the bolts and remove the upper counterweight. Do the same with the balances that are located around the hatch.
Clean the parts at the top
How to further disassemble the Bosch washing machine? To get the tank, you need to free up space as much as possible, and also disconnect all the parts attached to it.
- To remove the cuvette of the dispenser tray, disconnect the nozzle leading to it. If there is a clamp on it, release it with pliers. Also remove the inlet valve port.
- Now disconnect the pressure switch and anti-interference filter. To do this, disconnect the wiring from the parts, unscrew the mounting bolts. Remove the tube from the pressure switch. Pull the parts out of the housing.
From above the tank does not hold anything.
Go back to the back
Now you need to disconnect all the fasteners and elements.
- Remove the drive belt by pulling it slightly towards you.
- Disconnect the wires leading to the motor.
- Remove the bolts that hold the engine to the suspensions.
- Rocking the engine slightly from side to side, remove it from the housing. Caution, the part is heavy!
Get to the pump
It is necessary to lay the washer on the left side, remove the bottom (if any) by unscrewing the screws.
We disassemble the Bosch washing machine:
- With pliers, unclip the drain pipe clamp.
- Disconnect it. Be careful, there may be water in it.
- Unclench the wires leading to the pump.
- Remove the bolts that secure the drain pump and remove it.
Remove the tank
There is not much left until the tank is dismantled. Disconnect the wires from the heating element. The heater in Bosch machines is located in the front, under the tank.
You do not need to pull out the heating element, otherwise you will break the sealing rubber, which cannot be restored.
Sometimes on the walls of the tank is attached wiring fastened with plaits. Snack the plaits with wire cutters, remove the wires to the side. Now you need to remove the shock absorbers.
- Slide the head onto the back of the shock absorber rod to press the latch.
- Pull the stem with a pair of pliers and pull it out of the hole.
Do the same with the second shock absorber. It remains to remove the tank from the springs. Lift it up by the edges of the hatch and pull it out through the front section.
Take out the drum
Left a little. Now we will tell you how to disassemble the drum of the Bosch washing machine with your own hands. Fortunately, the tank in the cars of this brand is collapsible.
- Remove the pulley. Install a support to block the rotation of the pulley. Remove the central bolt. If it does not respond immediately, use WD40.
- Remove the bolts around the perimeter of the tank that hold the two parts together.
- Remove the upper half.
- Turn the bottom of the tank upside down.
- Tapping the rod with a hammer, remove the drum.
- Now open access to the bearings. If you need to get them, pull out the gland by prying it with a screwdriver.
- Place the bit on the outer race of the bearing and hammer it in a circle.
During disassembly, you can carefully inspect all the details of the washing machine. If faulty, they must be replaced.
Often scum forms on the walls of the tank and the heater, which is now clearly visible. Before reinstalling, clean all elements well, thereby extending the life of your SMA. Otherwise, soon you will have to do disassembly again to replace the faulty element.
As you can see, you can do this repair yourself. Therefore, if you are confident in your abilities, get to work.
