Wood interior decoration is one of the best decoration methods. When you touch the tree, it is impossible to get a burn, and the evaporation of oils gives a healing effect.
Material Help
Lining from Abasha is made of wood, which is widely distributed in the tropical zones of Africa. In nature, it is impossible to meet a forest of this tree. Abash grows in single instances. This African tree received another name for its size and strength - it is called African oak. Height - about 50 m, diameter - up to 3 m. The crown of the tree is at a considerable height, there are no branches at the bottom, so the trunk does not have knots that would spoil it.
The advantage of this wood species is its structure. The porous structure can be compared with the structure of foam: structures and products from this tree do not heat up at high temperatures. Lining from Abash is highly regarded as a material for finishing steam rooms. Heat-treated wood "adjusts" to the temperature of objects leaning against it. For example, a lining from Abash in a steam room will take a person’s body temperature. Products from Abash are used not only for steam rooms. Sunbeds and benches, decorative elements and furniture for baths are built from this raw material.
African oak has become popular for decorating steam rooms since the early 70s. The Germans and Finns were the first to use exotic material, and already in the early 90s, products from Abash came to Russia. The reason for this delay was that the cost of finishing materials from this raw material is high.
Characteristics and advantages of the material
The advantage of this material: the wood is already heat-treated and does not need additional care. It is very resistant to high temperatures and humidity, because the tree comes from the humid and hot regions of Africa.
The specific gravity of the tree makes it easy to process workpieces and fasten to weak structures. During processing, the material does not chip and does not split, which greatly simplifies its preparation.
Abash has parameters:
- The weight of one cubic meter of fresh wood is approximately 550–700 kg, and after drying it becomes lighter and rarely exceeds 350–380 kg / cu.
- The strength of the material (hardness) is high. This allows him to withstand mechanical shock and other damage.
- With high strength, the tree remains soft and light.
- Wood does not deform and does not shrink: from the blanks, you can make elements of the interior and decor.
The absence of knots on the wood makes the surface perfectly smooth. It turns out a very beautiful material externally. Boards do not absorb moisture and do not become slippery. Lining from Abash is used for the construction of shelves and flooring in steam rooms or bathrooms.
The wood has a delicate golden sheen with a cream shade, giving the room a special look. This allows you to significantly increase the level of comfort in baths, saunas and bathrooms.
Lining dimensions and prices
The only drawback of the material is its high cost.
Lining from Abash can be of several varieties, however, only the highest is often sold in Russia - there is practically no difference in price between the other varieties, since the tree is expensive.
Lining size 85x14 mm and a length of 1800 mm to 3050 mm will cost about 60-80 euros per 1 m3. Sometimes it is better to take this material piece by piece: one board with a length of 1800-1900 mm and a width of 80 mm costs about 4-7 US dollars. The thickness of the lining is standard and is 22 mm.
