What should I do if the door of the Atlant washing machine does not lock? In this case, the washing does not start, and the error F10 is displayed.
Error F10 stands for UBL: a locking device that locks the door electronically.
In SM Atlant models without a screen, the first and third indicators light up.
Let's understand in detail what the trouble code means.
What does the error mean: causes and signs of failure
Washing Atlant gives an error F10, which indicates problems with closing the door. How to independently understand that a breakdown has occurred?
When the power supply is cut off, the blocker plates return to shape. The door can be opened.
If the electronic lock is broken, the door will not open until you de-energize the SM Atlant. Even when the machine is turned off by a button on the panel, current is constantly supplied to the UBL.
Another reason when the error code F10 is lit on the CMA Atlant display is a short circuit. The thermocouple of the lock breaks through, after which it stops heating. It is clear that when the door is open, washing will not start.
How to fix the situation and remove the error F10? It is necessary to check the locking device.
Types of locks and the reasons for their breakdown
Atlant automated washing machines are equipped with an electronic lock - a lock allows you to tightly close the door. It also serves as protection against accidental discovery.
A malfunction of the sunroof lock device causes error F10 on the display: until the sunroof is closed, washing will not start.
Types of UBL
To understand how to fix the breakdown, you need to test the lock. To do this, we will understand the principles of operation of two types of UBL:
- Thermal lock. It is based on two bimetallic plates - when electricity is supplied, the plates expand and press on the lever. The hatch door is securely locked.
Damage to the thermal locks is caused by wear on the plates.
The photo shows the principle of operation: - An electromagnetic lock is used less and less by the manufacturer. The device only works when there is electricity. If the electricity is turned off during washing, the hatch will not open until the current begins to flow to the lock.
Checking and replacing the lock
Damage can occur both with the door open and closed. If the hatch is locked in the closed position, you cannot get to the UBL.
Let’s figure out how to open the hatch and solve the problem. What do we have to do:
- Unplug the plug from the power supply without disconnecting the Atlant washing machine.
- After tilting the SM by 45 degrees, run your hand through the bottom of the machine to the door (you may need help from the outside).
- Try to release the latch and open the hatch.
The same thing can be done through the top of the machine. To do this, unscrew the screws that secure the top panel, remove it. Run your hand between the drum and the body. Unlock the door.
Now about how to remove UBL:
- Open the hatch, unscrew the three screws holding the lock.
- Bending the cuff, you will notice a metal clamp. Prying off with a screwdriver, remove it from the washing machine.
- Bending the cuff, pull out the UBL.
- Remove the cover from the device by releasing the latches.
- Unclench and remove the harnesses.
Here is a hatch lock device.
To check, use the multimeter in resistance mode. Connect the test leads to the neutral and phase contacts. If the display shows a number of 3 digits, then the lock is working. Then rearrange the probes to neutral and common contact. If a malfunction occurs, 0 or 1 will appear.
If you find out the cause of the F10 error in the Atlant washing machine, install the new lock in the reverse order. Now start the wash and look at the result.
In order for the UBL and the mechanical lock on SM Atlant to last as long as possible, follow simple rules:
- Do not let children randomly press buttons on the panel.
- Do not try to force open the hatch after washing until the UBL is unlocked.
