Finally you bought a dishwasher. But instead of being happy with the purchase, you understand how the installation of the built-in dishwasher proceeds. The instruction helps in these matters, but it is common to all models, so it is not always clear in what order to act. In the article you will learn how to properly install the dishwasher with your own hands.
PMM Embedding Features
If you want to keep a single “picture” of the kitchen, without sharing the headsets for installing equipment, then the built-in model is perfect. Such a dishwasher will hide behind the external facade, without pretending to be anything.
The choice of built-in PMM is especially large today. Among them are such brands: Bosch, Burning, Electrolux, Zanussi, Kandy, Veko and others. They differ not only in functionality, but also in size:
- full-size models are produced 60 cm wide, 80 cm high, 45 cm deep;
- compact PMMs are 45 cm wide and high.
It is better to integrate such dishwashers into a new kitchen set, where a place is provided for them. Usually this is a larger box than the car, because it should not stand close to the walls. Be sure to leave space for ventilation - at least 5 cm. The rear wall of the cabinet may be missing or have holes for hoses.
Installing embedded PMMs yourself is quite simple. Included are templates with markings for fastenings for hanging a decorative panel.
If you have to build on furniture that is already in the kitchen, choose a place near communications. The ideal option is to the right or left of the sink. Free a suitable cabinet from the shelves, remove the door. The installation under the countertop is convenient if the machine is equipped with legs-wheels, which are adjustable in height.
It is not advisable to place the dishwasher near ovens, ovens or radiators.
Upon purchase, a guarantee is issued for the equipment, which is canceled if the connection is incorrect. For example, do not use tees or carry. Do not connect the PMM to a furnace outlet. The cord of the machine is quite short, so the outlet should be located at a height of 45 cm from the floor, in addition, it must have a European standard, grounding, connection through a difavtomat.
How to install a dishwashing machine: tools and parts
Prepare everything you need so that the tools are at hand. You will need:
- a set of slotted and Phillips screwdrivers;
- wrench;
- pliers;
- drill with a set of nozzles;
- nippers;
- level;
- chisel;
- roulette.
Stock up on accessories:
- siphon;
- Euro socket;
- ball valve;
- brass tee;
- fum tape;
- difavtomat;
- gaskets and clamps.
Electrical connection
If you do not have a special outlet, we recommend that you call a specialist for installation. He will gouge a channel in the wall and lay a three-wire copper wire, install a difavtomat and connect a moisture-proof outlet through it.
Now you are ready for further action.
Water connection
Connect the dishwasher to a source of cold water, as it is better in quality. Moreover, the equipment is equipped with a heating element, which independently heats the water.
Read the instructions carefully. It is possible that only cold water is allowed to connect your model, and when connected to hot water, you may lose the warranty.
We recommend additionally installing a coarse filter. It will provide protection from large debris, soften water, so the scale will not settle on the heater.
Working process:
- put a tee on the end of the cold water pipe;
- connect the inlet hose to one outlet and the mixer to the other.
If your tee is not equipped with a shut-off valve, install it immediately.
Wrap the joints with fum tape. It seals all joints.
Sewer works
First of all, a siphon with two openings for the outlet is installed. One will connect the dishwasher, the other - the washing machine. You can also replace the sink with a more compact version.
- Route the drain hose 60 cm from the floor. Fix it with clamps to the furniture.
- Before connecting the end of the hose to the siphon, bend it so that water flows out of the machine into the siphon.
Not enough hose length? Do not rush to deal with building, it is better to buy a new element of the desired length. So you will avoid the risk of a flood.
Now you know how to do all the work yourself. It remains to arrange the equipment in place. How to do it right:
- Move the PMM closer to the cabinet (can be immediately installed in the cabinet, if it is more convenient).
- Connect the drain hose to the siphon.
- Reconnect the intake hose.
- Slide the dishwasher under the countertop.
- Use the bolts to install the facade.
The work is over. It remains to conduct a test run to verify the connection. A video on the topic will help you:
