If you use Samsung dishwashers, then you know that this technique has a sensitive electronic control. The machine is equipped with various washing programs, has a stylish design, but it is not safe from breakdowns. What to do if suddenly the dishwasher stops turning on or the washing cycle does not start?
We will tell you how to determine the cause of the malfunction. You will also learn how to repair a Samsung dishwasher with your own hands.
Error codes ПММ "Samsung" are collected and described in detail in a separate article.
Causes of Samsung Dishwasher Breakdowns
If the dishwasher does not work and does not turn on, network problems could occur. Checking this out is easy:
- Connect another device to the PMM outlet. If it does not work, then there is a problem with the outlet, you need to replace it or repair it.
- Inspect the network cable. If the insulation of the cord is broken, replace it completely.
- Lastly, fuses on the control board are checked. As a result of a short circuit, they could burn out, so diagnostics and repair of the electronic module are needed.
The Samsung PMM self-diagnosis system itself can display an error code on the display. By decrypting the code, the user will quickly determine the cause of the malfunction. However, if the error is highlighted for the first time, a system failure is not ruled out. In this case, the machine reboots.
Reboot can be used to reset the program. For example, if the Eco mode blinks, do this:
- disconnect the dishwasher from power for 15-20 minutes;
- After switching on, check the control panel.
When the code is displayed again, you need to start troubleshooting.
Why Samsung Dishwasher Fails:
- Problems with the filler system or inlet valve. A water supply error occurs. Possible clogging in the fence system. Check the hose, filter and inlet valve. Maybe the valve is defective, so it needs a replacement.
- Malfunctions in the drain system. Does the machine drain the water after a wash cycle? A filter, pump, or hose is likely to clog. This happens if the user does not clean the dishes from the leftovers. The cause of the problem could be a faulty circulation pump.
- The wash cycle does not start. You hear that water is being drawn into the PMM tank, but dishwashing does not start. Listen, is the engine running? The water supply to the nozzles depends on the engine with the circulation pump.
The nozzles themselves on the sprayer could also become clogged. They need to be removed and cleaned. - Faulty heating system. When the dishes are poorly washed, you need to check whether the water in the machine heats up. The reason for the lack of heating could be a broken heater, or a thermistor, which is responsible for controlling the temperature in the tank. The wiring could also have deteriorated.
- Leakage. Water gets on the floor due to damage to the dishwasher tank, hose connections. Damage to or deterioration of the door seal also leads to water leakage.
- Detergent is not washed out of the tray. Most likely, the tray dispenser has broken. Need repair or replacement.
Having considered the main malfunctions, you can begin to eliminate them.
How to repair a dishwasher with your own hands
Before carrying out repairs, disconnect the Samsung dishwasher from the mains and shut off the water supply.
Jellied system repair
If your dishwasher does not fill up, check the system for clogging. What do we have to do:
- disconnect the filler valve from the PMM body;
- check it for blockage;
- remove the filter mesh from the housing;
- rinse under the tap, you can use a brush to clean.
- Diagnose the inlet valve: mechanical and electronic parts.
Coils are called by a multimeter - they could be damaged as a result of a short circuit.
After blocking, replace the valve if necessary. The part is located under the lower body of the PMM. To remove it, just disconnect the hose, wiring and unscrew the fastening screw.
Checking the drain
Why doesn't the dishwasher drain the water? The reason can be either a blockage or a blockage of the pump. It’s easy to do diagnostics and eliminate blockages with your own hands:
- Open the door of the PMM hopper.
- Remove all baskets and dish trays.
- Below is a drain filter. Pull it out and clean.
- Now open access to the pump. To do this, press down the cover and pull up. Check the impeller with gloves; it may be clogged with small pieces of glass.
- Disconnect and check the drain hose.
Blockage cleared, but no discharge? You need to see if the circulation pump is working. If you decide to replace it, follow the sequence of actions:
- Having cleared the bunker of the dishwasher of baskets and water, put it “on its back”.
- The circulation pump is connected to the pump. Therefore, start by dismantling the drain pump.
- Unscrew the pump mount and disconnect the wiring.
- Scroll it clockwise and set it aside.
- Disconnect pump wiring.
- Press the metal spring that secures it to the body.
- Disconnect hoses, having unclasped collars.
Rearrange the metal spring to install a new pump. Replace in the reverse order.
Dishwashing problems
PMM "Samsung" has become poorly laundered pollution? Check the spray nozzles. They are mounted on top and bottom inside the hopper and are used to spray water on the dishes. The lower beam can simply be pulled out. To remove the top, unscrew the fixing screw.
To clean nozzles - small holes on the beam, a toothpick will help.
With a broken dispenser, the detergent is poorly washed, so the dishes are poorly cleaned. How to repair yourself:
- If the dispenser cover does not break, remove it using a flat screwdriver.
- Remove the spring from the metering lever, set aside.
- Reposition the spring on a new cover.
- Put the spring on the hook of the metering lever.
- Insert one side of the cover into the guide.
- Use a flathead screwdriver to insert the other side of the cover.
Start the wash cycle to check the functionality of the new parts.
Leak repair
To begin, inspect the entire dishwasher, determine the place of leakage. If these are hose connections, tighten them. If one of the hoses is leaking, perform a complete replacement.
Inspect the hopper door and its seals. Long-term use contributes to the wear of the rubber element, so install a new seal:
- open the hopper door;
- remove the old seal around the perimeter;
- stick a new item.
Also, the door is protected by a lower seal, which does not allow water from below. Replacing it is a bit trickier:
- open the door and unscrew the screws along the inner perimeter;
- lift the door up;
- pull the top front panel down and remove;
- pull the bottom basket out of the hopper;
- hook the lower seal with tweezers, pull it out of the seat;
- correctly set the rubber element will help the label on the right side;
- set the element with the label inward;
- Fill the seal all the way;
- making sure the seal is evenly seated in the groove, reassemble.
